Sometimes it is hard to not dwell on the problem but if there is no reason to be afraid of it then why be afraid of it? I have in the past got sick over my fear of roller coasters. I watched the videos on YouTube of it and just watching them made we sweat and dwelling on it made my stomach upset.

The Treatments For Anxiety Disorders in a Nutshell

Cast all your anxietyImage by Lel4nd (busy) via Flickr
Anxiety disorders are a debilitating condition that interferes with a person's day to day life. When confronted with certain situations that others wouldn't be effected by they find it extremely difficult to function. But before getting treatment for an anxiety disorder you first find out if it's an actual anxiety disorder or a different medical condition.
Certain medical conditions or lifestyle choices may mimic an anxiety disorder. For example if you're having problems with your thyroid gland, asthma, or being hypoglycemic can all have effects on your anxiety. Also consuming large amounts of nicotine, alcohol, or even caffeine can mimic the symptoms of an anxiety disorder. So it's paramount that you first seek consultation from a doctor and get the necessary test to confirm that your anxiety isn't a medical condition.
Once it has been established that you don't have a medical condition then it's necessary to seek consultation from a qualified professional who deals with anxiety disorders. Usually your doctor, school counselor, or local university psychology department can refer you to qualified professionals in your area.
Usually treatment will take one of three forms, therapy, medication, or a combination of both.
Therapy usually treats anxiety through exposure therapy and cognitive therapy. Exposure takes the patient through a manageable step by step process to slowly 'expose' the patient to the situations and conditions that cause the anxiety in hopes that the patient will learn to cope by practicing in a safe environment.
Cognitive therapy takes deals with the negative thoughts that are rooted in the anxiety. It also expands the sufferer's knowledge about their own disorder helping the patient supplant the dangerous thoughts with those that don't lead to anxiety.
Medication on the other hand usually deals with the purely biological issues surrounding the patient's anxiety. Usually they are used to limit the symptoms both immediately and longer term and is found extremely helpful in allowing the patient go through the process of therapy. Typically these medications are anti-depressants like prozac, and benzodiazepines which calm the physical symptoms.
Like all prescriptions, there are possible side effects and maybe habit forming. It's important to read up on the medications before taking them and discuss any questions you may have about them with the professional who would be prescribing them.
In addition other treatments may be used to help with recovery. Such as relaxation techniques like meditation, regular exercise, and hypnosis.

How to Deal With Anxiety Without Medication

MIAMI BEACH, FL - JUNE 11: Claudia Groetzinge...Image by Getty Images via Daylife
Is it possible to learn how to deal with anxiety without taking prescription medications? The short answer is yes, but you have to be willing to understand that you have a disorder first.
We all deal with some sort of anxiety and stress throughout our daily lives. However, there are certain situations that cause such stress, that people just can't seem to handle them. This can often lead to psychological and physical problems. Sometimes, these people will try to deal with these difficult situations by turning to alcohol or drugs, which they can become addicted to. Still, other people become addicted to prescription medications which were intended to help their disorder. Fortunately, there are several different stress management and anxiety coping methods you can use to deal with your anxiety disorder.
The First 3 Steps For Managing Anxiety Without Medication
Your first step towards successfully managing your anxiety or stress is to identify the factors, situations, or people who are causing this stress. By knowing the exact causes, you will then be able to confront these things and plan your life accordingly.
Your next step to dealing with your anxiety should be to take a break from the stressful situations you are currently experiencing. It is very important to make time for yourself to reorganize, reflect, and then handle the issue or problem with a fresh perspective on things.
You can also deal with your anxiety without medication by changing the way that you react to certain situations or things that cause this stress in the first place. Start to prioritize and focus on just one situation at a time. It will help if you have a support group, and if you are with someone that you can share your questions and concerns with.
How To Deal With Anxiety Going Foreword
Once you have completed the steps above, you will be ready to "let it go". However, letting go of this excessive stress will take some practice, but you must learn how to do it. When you feel stressed out, try focusing your mind on something else. This will help you from becoming overwhelmed. There are other stress management techniques you can use such as meditation, writing a journal, listening to music, exercise, doing something you enjoy, laughing, and reading can all be very helpful when you are trying to learn how to deal with anxiety.
Some other great ways to manage anxiety without medication include getting a good nights sleep each and every night, regular exercise, and properly nourishing your body. Your body and mind will need to be strong and healthy for you to better handle any stressful situation. Eat lean proteins, vegetables, fruits and whole grains as part of your regular diet so that you can increase your energy levels. Exercising regularly will help supply oxygen to every single cell in your body, which will help you operate at your best.
Another great way on how to deal with anxiety without medication, is to think positively and try to avoid worrying about things that don't matter. This does not mean that you shouldn't allow yourself to have wishes and dreams, but if you suffer from chronic anxiety and are unable to get rid of the symptoms, then it may be time to seek professional help.
If you find that you are unable to relax, or find it difficult to concentrate, then you may want to take a look at Stop an Anxiety Attack or even check out Panic Away Review for more information and advice on how to deal with anxiety.

Once symptoms begin to manifest in a patient, it can be easily confused for other more serious disorders. What You Should Know About Panic and Anxiety Attacks

Panic Attack or Anxiety PTSDImage via Wikipedia

Panic attacks and anxiety attacks is a condition in which your body reacts as if threatened by impending danger even when there is no threat present: rapid beating of the heart (palpitations), severe chilling and/or intensive sweating. The body reacts as if having a heart attack. It's really terrifying. And it's debilitating.
The really important thing that I can tell you is that it is preventable. You do not have to suffer from this ailment. The crucial message I bring to you first-hand from suffering from panic attack for years - and overcoming them - is how to prevent this excruciating ailment from happening at all.
After your first attack, if you are like I was, you were fearful of having that feeling again, that scary out-of-control state your body was going through. So you are always on guard, always fearful that your body will betray you and you might actually die from the intense symptoms you feel. You won't! But you don't have to go through all that!
There are basically two methods to control and eradicate these intense feelings: cognitive (using your mind to realize that you are not actually threatened and you are NOT going to die) and behavioral (retraining your body to relax and release in the face of the artificial stress your brain is sending to your body.)
In further chapters, I will discuss the situations, which set up the triggers for panic attacks and why it's important to you to determine what triggered your original attack.
Here's my heartfelt empathy for what you're going through and my dedication to help you release yourself from the grip of panic attacks.

How to Cope With Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Anxiety and panic attacks occur when considerable amounts of stress and anxiety leave you unable to clearly focus, and function properly. In extreme cases; this stress can leave you with medical problems.
If you're unfortunate enough, to suffer from extreme anxiety, and panic attacks then you may have trouble breathing. Many people have reported having chest pains, and their heart rates have accelerated to very dangerous levels.
Some attacks will look like, and may even feel like a heart attack. Quite often on lookers will call for medical help thinking that the sufferer is having a heart attack. Only professionals will be able to tell the difference between heart and panic attacks, and they will be happy to help with treatment. Listen to what they recommend to you. Medical staff will give you tips on calming down, encouraging you to practise slow breathing to promote relaxation. In the most extreme cases they could also administer oxygen or anti depressant medication that's available to help suffers cope with anxiety and panic attacks.
So what triggers anxiety and panic attacks?
These attacks can be triggered by many things, and affect different people in different ways and levels. For some the condition can affect their lives so seriously that they may be unable to leave the house, and need to take anti depressant tablets, in order to go about their daily routine.
This problem can seriously affect the lives of suffers, this is why most people will be put in touch with a psychiatrist that will be able to help them cope with the anxiety and panic attacks. Nowadays a lot of therapists strongly recommend relaxation techniques such as slow breathing using a paper bag to calm your nerves. Professionals can help you understand when an attack is coming, so you may be able to stop one in its tracks
Another great way to help you get rid of attacks is by working out the underlying cause of the stress that builds up to them. Some suffers report panicking as they leave the comfort zone of their house, they may panic in crowds or when they believe others are watching them.
Insecurities mixed with phobias or high level worries tend to lead to anxiety or panic attacks. The best way to try and cope with the problem is to slowly try to overcome the worrying stage. Leave home briefly with others for a walk around the block, gradually trying to expand the distance, and lessen the number in the group. Quite often walking a dog can be enough comfort to cover the feeling of being alone.
Another place to concentrate on when trying to cope with anxiety and panic attacks is your personal focus on life. Do you stress and worry easily before you've even tried leaving home? - As difficult as it sounds you need to accept that life can be hard, and stressing over everything won't help. If you leave home in a high state of anxiety it's a short step to a panic or anxiety attack, especially if you're stressing about the attack you believe is imminent.
If you can change your frame of mind to a positive one, eventually you'll be able to cope better in the outside world. Easy to say, but hard to do of course. Try with the help of both friends, family and professionals and it's a problem you should be able to overcome. Obviously they'll be struggle along the way, but it could be the difference between a life time of suffering, and a shorter period of hard work.
There are other options that you can look into. It is possible to cure your anxiety in a short period of time if you have the correct treatment. I cured my anxiety in a matter of days after I found the solution that worked for me, best of all this treatment can work for other too.

Panic Medications - You Don't Need Anxiety Medication to Treat Panic Attacks When You Know This

Panic Medications | Not Necessary Or Particularly Effective In Treating Anxiety
It may seem like the logical thing to do, you have a nervous disorder, so take medication to control your problem.  However, in this case many experts disagree that taking medicine is the best long term solution.
You see, these medications can be effective in treating panic in the short term for some, but not for others.  In others the effects can wear off or a higher dose may be needed, this is not a healthy cycle.
What's happening here is that the medication is masking your symptoms without treating the real cause of panic attack.  The real cause is a sympathetic dominant nervous system and a temporary brain misfire.
In order to effectively treat anxiety attacks we have to go to the root cause, the imbalance in the nervous system itself.  When we do this we can treat the disorder quickly and long term.
A long term and true healing is the goal here because we don't want to have to deal with this problem for the rest of our lives.  That is too nasty to think about.
Panic Medications | The Better Natural Treatment Regimen
  • Eat green vegetables and fresh fruits daily to "cool" your nervous system and get out of sympathetic dominance.  It's the alkaline mineral content that does this.
  • Eat a lot of protein foods to build larger neurotransmitter production - 100 grams a day in the minimum, for larger people you need more.  Vitamin C and B complex make the process even better.
  • Activity burn nervous energy to cool the system - walk, garden, job, bike, swim - do something.  30 minutes of continuous exercise is best, do this regularly.
  • Use a trusted friend as a free "therapist", confide your condition - this has real physical effects.
  • Learn tai chi, yoga, and deep breathing exercise to control, heal, and balance the nervous system.

3 Behaviors That Lead to Panic and Anxiety Attacks

There are 3 behaviors that those who suffer from frequent panic and anxiety attacks are likely engaging in. These behaviors build stress up in the body and cause you to be anxious all of the time. These behaviors actually lead to the attacks. So what are these behaviors?
1. The first behavior is perfectionism. Although there are many people who claim to be perfectionist, some people are simply obsessed with being perfect. When a person is obsessed with being a perfect, nothing is ever good enough. You are always focused on doing everything just right. You are obsessed to the point of feeling anxious, uptight and completely stressed out. You have an intense fear of failure.
2. The second behavior that can lead to frequent panic and anxiety is obsessive negativity. There are some people who just seem to have an overall negative life. This is because they hang around negative people that they have attracted to them, they are always involved somehow in negative situations and typically always have a negative attitude. Nothing is ever good or good enough. The glass is always half empty. Positive thoughts rarely if ever exist with those who are obsessed with negativity. Rather than changing their lives, they just criticize every aspect of it. Those with this personality trait also tend to have anxiety issues due to their extreme unhappiness and underlying depression.
3. Finally, the third behavior that can lead to panic attacks is obsessive over-analysis. Some people feel a need to over-think everything. They can never ever relax because they are constantly analyzing their world and everything that exists in it. Their mind is always going, their heads are never ever clear. Worry, fear, the future, the past, everything is over-thought. This behavioral trait can definitely lead to feeling over anxious and fearful which can lead to panic and anxiety disorder.
Those who have these traits tend to be very difficult to be around. They tend to have very few friends and associates. They are generally unhappy.
If you find that you do have any or all of these traits, you are not alone. These personality traits are very common in those who suffer from panic and anxiety disorder. Is This a Panic Anxiety Attack Or Just Stress?

Many people believe that stress and anxiety are the same. But this is definitely not the case. Experiencing stress and having an actual anxiety attack are quite different. So what are the differences between the two?
Stress is caused from pressure that we experience in our day to day lives. We can experience stress at work, at home or just by keeping company with certain people. When the body experiences stress, the pressure that we are feeling in our mind and body causes adrenaline to be released and our blood pressure to rise. There is also a release of the hormone that causes one to be depressed.
Stress is caused by something existing. Any situation, thought or experience that makes us feel frustrated, upset, nervous or even anxious can cause a person to be stressed. A person who is under lots of stress can feel anxiety, but this anxiety will normally go away when the cause of the stress is eliminated.
During a panic and anxiety attack, a person is consumed with the emotion of fear. This intense feeling of fear is often accompanied by worry and apprehension which may make a person feel jittery, dizzy and may even cause physical pain such as a headache or chest pains. A person having an anxiety attack has an intense feeling of unease. The feeling continues to intensify until the person being affected has a full blown panic attack.
While the cause of stress is usually known, the overwhelming feeling of anxiety that causes panic disorder is not always known or easily recognized. That is the major difference between the two.

Stop Panic Attacks Naturally and Relieve Anxiety For a Calmer Mind

A lot of people these days are struggling with panic attacks and a lot of anxiety. Luckily there are natural methods without resorting to man made drugs that can have you feeling calmer right away.
Probably the most important thing you can do to eliminate panic attacks is to stop consuming caffeine from coffee, sodas and other sources. It is a nervous system stimulant that often causes people to feel jittery and irritable.
The next thing you will want to do is eliminate nicotine. It causes many of the same problems that caffeine does, besides the fact that it puts you at risk for cancer!
To calm your mind, try deep breathing during the day even if just for 2 or 3 minutes. This helps you to get more oxygen to your brain and makes you feel calmer.
Get enough rest and sleep. When your body and mind are tired, you will naturally feel more stress and anxiety and be less able to deal with day to day events.
Do some exercise on a regular basis. Try to get in at least 30 minutes of exercise on 3 days during the week. More is even better. Just by doing some pushups and situps at home will have you feeling better by producing those feel good chemicals called endorphins.
Meditation or prayer also helps calm your mind and lets you regain focus to combat stress and anxiety. If possible try to have 30 minutes of alone time to practice this in a quiet place.
Start feeling better now by learning how to stop panic attacks naturally and feel more in control of your life! Visit my blog listed below to learn more and download a free e-book for your visit.

How to Relieve Anxiety Attacks - Two Tips to Cure Your Panic As Fast As Possible Without Medication

I remember the first time when I was struck by the anxiety attack. Sitting uneasily in a small room with people around me, I felt like shouting out. Fresh air was what I needed the most at that time. Now I am completely relieved from those horrible anxiety attacks due to some professional advice and well trained self help skills. If you are determined to live without anxiety in the rest of your life, I am going to share some killer tips on recovering from anxiety attacks completely.
The first tip that I have learned during my battle again panic attacks, and this may be the most important tip of all, is to forget about the fact that you have had anxiety attacks before. Many situations could remind me of that time when I was attacked by anxiety for the first time. For example, a small room, a similar table or even when people are talking about the same topic. The more associated I got with the bad experience, the more frequently that the attacks occurred. Therefore, if you want to relieve anxiety attacks, this is the most important step that you should take.
The second tip that I learned after saving myself from devastation is to equip yourself with self help skills. As soon as I sensed any sign which indicated that a panic attack was lingering nearby, I would do something to eliminate it in advance. I usually walked quickly outside and take some deep breath.
In conclusion, these two tips helped me to overcome the recurrence of the panic attacks that frequently visited me before. In particular, I learned when it might come up, and took action before the anxiety did anything to me. Then I learned to consider myself as a normal person who had never been bothered by anxiety attacks.

Pros and Cons of Medicating Anxiety and Panic Attack Symptoms

Those who regularly suffer from anxiety and panic attack symptoms are in constant search of relief. Of course there is no shortage of anxiety and panic attack treatments; there are of course those that are better than others. With so many options on the table if can become quite difficult to make the right choice, and the stakes are high, so you want to be sure to make the best choice possible.
You may be familiar with the choking sensation, sweating, shaking, feeling faint and that insanity or death is just around the corner. Ridding yourself of these nightmares may be something you dream of on a regular basis; sadly it is quite uncommon to achieve this.
One of the more popular treatments for panic and anxiety attacks is medication, so I think it is relevant that is pros and cons are looked at to see if it really does earn its place at the top of the list of panic and anxiety attack treatments.
We will begin with the pros:
1. Convenience - Medications biggest advantage must be that of its convenience. Packaged as a pill practically anyone can swallow, medication is very simple to use. Besides this, medications are always readily available from your doctor or local drug store.
2. Speed - Another major pro for medication is that you get results almost immediately. This is unquestionably a huge advantage for those who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks.
3. Effectiveness - As one would suspect, medication of course does work. By sticking to your prescription the frequency of your panic and anxiety attacks will drop quite drastically.
Now let's take a look at the cons:
1. Side effects - Yes, after all this time, most medications still have some form of side effects. And while they do give relief to some users, sadly some people end up worse off than they were. Until medications can curb these terrible side effects, they simply can not be considered a universal cure, unlike treatment from natural cures for panic and anxiety attacks.
2. Tolerance - There is a major reason why medication should be used sparingly and only when necessary. Medications are very similar to alcohol, after repeated use, you body builds up a tolerance to them, and after a few months, medication just may not do for you what it once did.
3. Impermanence. - Effective as it is, medication simply avoids the problem. It may reduce the frequency of our panic and anxiety attacks, but it will never eliminate them as it does not attack the root of the problem. Therefore medication should serve only as temporary relief until a cure is found.
With all this said, medication is still worthy of recognition as an effective anxiety and attack panic treatment. But I do not think it deserves a place as the top choice. Instead, one should turn to a natural cure, yes cure! By choosing a natural treatment for your panic and anxiety attacks you will be winning the battle by killing panic and anxiety attacks right at their source, and working towards ridding yourself of them forever.

Panic Attacks, Anxiety and Us

So, if a T-Rex and you happened to be on the same field...well, you might just have survived thanks to this mechanism.
But let's not put all our eggs in one basket.
However, the problem is that we don't need this much fuel and we hardly ever find ourselves in situations in which our lives are threatened in the manner described above.
Once upon a time, your boss might have wanted to attack you violently simply because you left his leather shorts for too long in the sun. These days, you're more likely to be threatened by unpleasant talk involving how to cope with your large mortgage amid recession and redundancy.
So, you do get anxious and experience a degree of stress but there is no physical challenge through which you can vent your excess energy. Sleepless nights are more likely.
It's no wonder, then, that we've developed so many different types of anxiety.
For instance, we have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Social Anxiety.
Social Anxiety was in fact a huge problem for the famous physicist Cavendish who, even though he was brilliant in his discoveries and humanity, took another half-century to rediscover what he already knew. He wasn't even given credit for the large percentage of these discoveries. The reason: his fear of communicating with people. He even talked to his house-keeper via letters - never in person. It's not surprising that his work went unnoticed.
When under panic attack, we experience a series of unpleasant feelings: chest pains, a worryingly-strong heart-beat, hot flushes, and so on. Also, we all have different things that trigger such conditions, whether that be crossing a river on a footbridge or even while having a haircut.
Generally, every human being is like a window: if you throw too many heavy stones you will crack or break that window.
Of course, we're not talking here about stones in the literal sense but more about them as being stressful events or upsetting thoughts which can weaken our protection.
But no matter what we decide to do with our problem, the important thing is to realise that only we are in charge of the most sophisticated and intelligent computer known to man - the human brain.
We are that mysterious program writer that is capable of such beautiful dreams and in the same time such terrifying nightmares. Sometimes all we need is just one extra maintenance technique to turn things around.

Overcoming Panic Attacks - Essentials to Defeating Anxiety

Leading a normal life with a panic disorder is extremely difficult and disturbing. Most people suffering from panic attacks tend to see every situation as a possible threat and hence live every single day trying to avoid meeting people, traveling, living alone, getting into conflicts or arguments etc.
I can empathize with people suffering from this disorder as I myself was a victim of it for a long time. But, thankfully, the modern days have come up with numerous modern ways to deal with this problem, thus relieving many people of their agony. Read on as I explain to you how I was freed from my panic attacks.
When panic attacks get the better of you, most people would prefer immediate relief and hence turn to drugs. But as you keep taking these drugs, you will realize that not only does it make your condition worse, but you reach a point where you just cannot stop taking these drugs and then you end up ruining your physical and mental health. The root of the problem, the reason for the attacks, the reason for not being able to perceive a situation in the right manner, all these problems cannot be set right by the use of drugs. They only give you symptomatic relief when you are extremely nervous, or you have a racing pulse or you are sweating profusely, when you feel like someone is strangling you etc.
When a situation is perceived as a small trigger, most normal people react by feeling a little nervous, start sweating and experience slight palpitation. But, in people suffering from panic attacks, these little triggers are perceived as a huge threat and they react with symptoms that are much more severe when compared to normal limits, which is why these people always seem to be tensed and afraid.
A panic attack is very treatable. What you need to do first and foremost is accept that you have a little problem, a problem that does not let you perceive certain painful situations in the right way. Instead of worrying about all the reactions that happen in your body when the mind is triggered, try to focus on re-thinking and re-living that triggering situation over and over again until your mind develops the art of looking at it calmly without going insane.
Every new situation should be taken as a challenge, like a new mathematical problem where your mind gradually develops the art of solving different kinds of problems by proper analysis. Once you learn how to do this, you will see that your mental and physical health improves a great deal, which will improve your overall quality of life.
Overcoming panic attacks is without a doubt achievable and something that ultimately changed my life. If you would like to know more on how I overcame my disorder and how you can too, then visit my blog at: Cure for Panic Attacks
